Meet Danny

My Story

Danny Minton was raised in a conservative, working-class family in Oklahoma, where faith, hard work, and personal responsibility weren’t just values, they were lived every day. His parents taught him to show compassion to his neighbors, stand up for what’s right, and never stop asking the tough questions. Those lessons shaped the man he is today.

For many years, Danny proudly identified as a Republican. But as he watched the party shift away from core principles of decency and service, he experienced a moral reckoning: the values he learned at home, love of neighbor, care for the vulnerable, and basic human dignity were better reflected in the Democratic Party. He chose not to stand on the sidelines, he chose to stand with working families.

Danny is running for Congress because he believes government should work as hard as the people it serves. He’s tired of the endless culture wars and partisan gridlock. He wants real solutions for healthcare, for education, for economic opportunity, solutions that lift up all Texans, not just the wealthy or well-connected.

AN AMERICAN STORY

  • Danny Minton’s life reflects the promise that hard work, opportunity, and perseverance can change the course of a family’s future. He knows what it’s like to just get by, and he’s ready to make sure the people of District 6 can thrive instead.
  • Danny was raised by both parents alongside his younger brother. His mother was the family matriarch, working three jobs to make ends meet. Despite their parents’ hard work, the family faced financial hardship and relied on food assistance while living one unexpected expense away from homelessness.
  • Determined to build a different future, Danny attended the University of Oklahoma, where he focused on science, medicine, and disease prevention. With over 30 years of experience in healthcare, specializing in breast cancer surgery and supporting patients during some of the most difficult moments of their lives, Danny is ready to continue a life of service.
  • Today, Danny and his wife Dr. Christina Minton, a veterinarian, are raising their sons in Arlington. Family, faith and service are at the heart of their lives. They enjoy attending church and respect people of all faiths.
  • In his spare time, Danny enjoys lighting up the grill with his BBQ team, reviewing movies for the Houston Chronicle and watching his son play football for the Martin Warriors.

BUILT FOR THE WORKING CLASS

A graduate of the University of Oklahoma, Danny earned his degree in Zoology and pursued advanced studies in epidemiology. He spent years working in the medical field as a consultative sales professional, training physicians and supporting patients facing devastating illnesses like breast cancer and Alzheimer’s. That experience gave him a deep understanding of how healthcare actually works, and where it fails everyday Americans.

Today, Danny lives in Arlington, Texas, with his wife Christina, a veterinarian he describes as “the best in the state.” They are raising two sons: Maximus, a student at James Martin High School, and Flash, an aviation major at Angelo State University.

BUILT FOR OUR DISTRICT.

Danny Minton brings heart, grit, and real-world experience to public service. He listens before he leads and he will always fight for the everyday families who built this country.
